NAPPS Interactive Learning Courses
NAPPS Interactive Learning Courses are an opportunity to study and network with other pet sitters around a given subject area for a 5-12 month period of time. Class members will purchase a one-year subscription to the assigned monthly newsletter, join a closed Facebook group, and then discuss the articles with colleagues.
The time commitment each month will be between 2-5 hours depending on your reading speed and interest level. Available courses are listed below. We hope you will enjoy both the newsletter and the opportunity to engage with and learn from other NAPPS pet sitters!
Here’s how it works:
Subscribe to the assigned magazine for the year about 6-8 weeks before the course begins, approx. $20
Sign up for the class in the Online Learning section. (See diagram below)
The cost of the interactive class for members is $30.00, non-members is $55.00.
Once you have signed up for the class on the NAPPS website, you will be given
the name of the Facebook group to join. Go to that Facebook page and ask to be joined to the group.
Each month read the magazine (about 16-20 pages).
By the end of the month, make two original comments of your own in the Facebook group, and respond to three comments by classmates. You may participate more actively as you wish, but these are the minimum requirements for you to receive full credit. An impartial moderator will track participation in the course.
At the end of 6-12 months, if you are certified and working on re-certification, you will receive anywhere 3-6 CEUs in the Education category (depending on the length of the courses ½ CEU per month. If you do not participate fully, the CEUs will be reduced and you will only receive credit for CEUs in the months where you met the minimum requirements. If you do not participate fully for at least ten months of the year, you will not receive any CEUs.
