Below are some tips every parent should remember when taking care of their dog.

TIP #1 - TREATING & PREVENTING HEARTWORM

TIP #2 - REGULARLY VISIT YOUR VET

A dog at home also needs to frequently visit an excellent local vet to make sure your dog is in excellent health. A good thing to remember is to bring your dog to the vet for an annual checkup because the vet will be able to ask you a couple questions about your pet’s behavior, eating habits, and how often your dog exercises. Check on Google or ask for a good friend if someone can refer you to an excellent veterinarian.

TIP #3 - DAILY WALKING WITH YOUR DOG

As you probably already know that dogs love to walk & your dog is begging you to take him or her for a walk. When you exercise your dog on a daily basis, you’ll be able to keep your little guy in physically good shape, happy, and reduce the chance of your dog having destructive or harmful behavior. You don’t have to take your dog on long walks like 5 or 10 miles for daily exercise but just 1 mile or 2 miles around the neighborhood should be sufficient.

Your schedule does not permit time to walk your dog as often as needed? Consider hiring a NAPPS Professional Pet Sitter to assist when needed.

TIP #4 - MAINTAIN YOUR DOG’S WEIGHT

All dogs love to overeat as you probably already know and they could they would eat more. Overfeeding a dog can be harmful because of an overweight dog which can cause arthritis, liver disease, or coronary disease. To help your dog live a long healthy & happy life, ask you vet if they could recommend an excellent brand of food that would be ideal for the size of your dog. Just remember, incorporating portion control for your dog can be helpful for keeping your dog’s weight under control.

Some of those foods are: alcoholic beverages, chocolate, avocado, coffee, macadamia nuts, onions, raisins, salt, & garlic.
