9 Tips to Keep Pet Hair Under Control

'We love our fluffy dogs and adorable cats, but we don't want our home sweet home to be loaded with pet hair.' - a grim reality that can never be changed.

Pet parents know that one of their biggest challenges is dealing with all the pet hair. Pet hair can be a nuisance in many ways. It can be difficult to clean and often leaves behind an unpleasant smell.

I remember when I owned an Alaskan Malamute, the super cuddly, bag of energy, and a bold companion, who whirled around me, loved me, and made me feel special every time I entered the house after a tiring day.

Aah! But this furry Malamute was a super hair shedder. I found his hair on a sofa, bed, carpet, car, in fact, every place he sat.

At times, even my apple pie and pasta platter embraced his hair.

Giving up on My Hairy Hero wasn't an option. So I spend my days browsing the internet to find ways to keep the shedding under control.

My endless efforts paid off.

I found multiple ways and products to combat pet hair.

And yes, a little bit of effort can help keep the home clean and free of pet hair.

If you're wondering what those tricks can be, here's a few tips that will keep the pet hair at bay.

  1. Vacuum Regularly

I started vacuuming my home every day.

This is the most important thing I did to keep pet hair under control. Vacuuming will help to remove any hair that has already fallen off the pet.

Plus, I vacuum my car since my furry buddy travels with me in a car. This will help to remove any hair that has been shed during the ride.

Note: Be sure to use a vacuum with a good filter and a special pet hair attachment. This will help to pick up more hair than sweeping or using a dustpan.

  1. Wipe Down Surfaces

Pet hair can easily be removed from surfaces; simply wipe down surfaces with a damp cloth. This will allow you to pick up any hair that has accumulated on furniture, floors, or other surfaces.

  1. Use A Carpet Cleaner

In addition to vacuuming, I have occasionally been using a carpet cleaner to remove any deep-seated pet hair. It helps to remove pet hair from carpets and rugs.

Note: There are many different kinds of carpet cleaners in the market, so make sure to read the labels carefully before purchasing one.

  1. Groom A Pet Regularly

Grooming a pet regularly sounds like a daunting job. However, it is one of the ways to prevent pet hair from becoming a problem.

In addition, this will help to remove any loose or shedding hair before it has a chance to accumulate.

Note: A pet can easily be groomed at home by brushing and trimming the hair.

  1. Keep Your Pet Clean

In addition to regular grooming, it is also important to keep your pet clean. This will help reduce shedding and minimize the amount of hair left behind.

A regular bath helps to keep the pet tidy and keep hair shedding under control.

  1. Use Furniture Covers

I consider using furniture covers as my furniture is particularly susceptible to pet hair. This helps me keep hair off the upholstery and makes it easier to clean.

  1. Wash Hands After Petting

Washing hands after petting the puppy keeps us healthy and prevents hair shedding.

I always prefer to wash my hands as it helps remove any loose hair on my hands.

  1. Use A Lint Brush

A lint brush is a great tool for removing pet hair from carpet, upholstery, and other surfaces that might be clinging.

  1. Choose The Right Pet

This is one of the most difficult decisions you will ever have to make.

The pup you like the most may shed the most. But choosing the right pet always helps. It minimizes the amount of effort to put in to keep the pet hair under control.

If you are concerned about pet hair, it is important to choose the right pet. Some pets shed more than others, so be sure to do your research before making a decision.
