What is NAPPS? 

NAPPS is a member association for full-and part-time pet sitters and dog walkers.

What makes NAPPS different from other pet sitting organizations?

If I join, how long will it take for my membership to become active? 

Your membership will become active immediately, you will receive a confirmation email that will provide you with your login and password for the Members Only area. Once you have access to the Members Only area, you can begin taking advantage of the many benefits of membership. Also, you will be included in the NAPPS online referral network immediately after registration.

 

How do I obtain Insurance? 

NAPPS offers members a discount group liability package through Business Insurers of the Carolinas, LLC.   
Once a member, contact the Business Insurers of the Carolinas, LLC directly at 800 962- 4611 or http://www.petsitterinsurance.com/ for information regarding policy options and rate information. NAPPS certified pet sitters receive an additional discount.

What is the NAPPS Professional Pledge of Professional Conduct? 

The Pledge of Professional Conduct is designed to guide members in the conduct of business, which shall represent the highest standards of ethical behavior and humane attitudes towards animals and people.

How is NAPPS managed?  

NAPPS is a nonprofit membership organization, governed by a Board of Directors, elected annually by members.
Board members have a legal duty to:

  • use reasonable care and good judgment in decision-making and be loyal to the organization
  • be faithful to the organization and obedient to its mission
  • comply with the governing documents, such as the bylaws and policies
  • Each board member must sign a special pledge of professional conduct
