One of the things I’ve always valued about our Association is that I can be involved in the programs that are rolled out to the membership, that I’m part of the decision making process and in short that I can be involved. That is the amazing thing that NAPPS provides us, the opportunity to volunteer and be a part of its’ growth, its’ mission and its’ path toward the future. Each year a Board of Directors is elected from the ranks of membership and they volunteer to help guide the Association. This year we welcome two newly elected Directors, Jennifer Savage, ProCare Pet Sitting & Dog Walking from Colorado Springs, CO and Gary Cimmino, Get Gary Pet Care from Madison, Connecticut. The Board is excited to work with them and get inspired by their new ideas and their vast knowledge of pet care. We also welcome a new Secretary-Treasurer, Amy Sparrow, Furkid Sitting & Services, LLC from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Amy has been serving on the Board for a year as well as volunteering with the Membership Committee and Co-Chairing the Pet Parent Task Force. Amy’s a great example of jumping in as a volunteer and helping to energize committees. The most important thing I can impart of the membership of NAPPS is that you’ll get out of your Association what you put into it, I think you’ll find you’ll get out even more. Volunteerism is an excellent opportunity to make your voice heard as a member, to network with a great group of sitters who run businesses like your own or maybe completely different. What an opportunity to gain knowledge, hear new ways to market or new technology that will make your life easier. NAPPS is currently looking for volunteers on Member Benefits, Membership, Marketing, NAPPS University and the Pet Parent Task Force, please contact Cathe Delaney at cdelaney@petsitters.org for more information. ~Yvette Gonzales.
