As pet professionals, we dedicate our lives to caring for animals—whether through pet sitting, training, boarding, or veterinary care. But when we’re not looking after our clients’ pets, how do we show love to our own furry (or feathery, or scaly!) family members?

This Valentine’s Day, we’re celebrating the deep bond between pet professionals and their pets. We asked pet professionals from all over the country to share how they make their own pets feel extra special. Here’s what they had to say!

My favorite way to show my pets love is by making them home cooked meals ☺️

My boy Paxson is the sweetest boy in the world. We show him love beyond our regular kisses and hugs by letting run free on our weekly hikes through our wilderness trail. He gets so excited, he runs at the speed of light and jumps higher than the tallest tree. Allowing him run and roam in my opinion helps him feel at one with his wild side. I love that for him.

My favorite way to show my four-legged family love is quality time. It's one of the best ways to show that I listen to them and care for their needs and wishes. I love being able to spend time really being present in the moment with them so that I can learn even more about who they are and how I can best support and love them for years to come. It's the number one way I recommend others to help soothe and reassure their loved ones especially for busy days and weeks leading up to momentous days like a wedding day.
